Teenage years are a time of great change for any young person yet for those who have experienced trauma, abuse and loss there are considerable challenges to be navigated. This training looks to bring understanding of the implications of a young person’s personal history, teen brain development and the impact of abuse and trauma on their presenting behaviour. It looks to give carers and parents the skills and tools needed to support and navigate the family and the young person during  this crucial period of development.   The training session will consider: The impact of abuse and trauma on a young person’s functioning, understanding the teenage brain, strategies, overcoming adversity, helping the young person live with their past and to find out what support is there.
