Course Overview: This webinar covers a step-by-step process to lay the foundation of therapeutic parenting.
We will cover the following areas:
1. How to develop your understanding of why children from trauma behave differently to neurotypical children
2. Creating a water type routine using visual timetables, consistency structure and repetition.
3. Establishing the caregivers as the child’s unassailable safe base.
4. Using empathic commentary and nurturing responses
5. The importance of natural and logical consequences
6. Managing arguments, debates and using regular relationship repair
7. Seeking ways to begin to meet unmet developmental needs
8. Depersonalising the behaviour
9. Learning to consciously respond opposed to emotional reacting 10. The importance of self-care/essential maintenance
